Two people died and 35 employees were treated after a hydrogen sulfide leak at a Pemex facility in Deer Park, Texas. The leak occurred while workers were working on a flange, leading to a shelter-in-place order for nearby residents. The order was lifted after air monitoring found no hazardous pollutants. Pemex Deer Park stated that the incident was contained to their site and that air quality was being closely monitored. The facility is located at a Shell refinery site in Houston, a major hub for the petrochemical industry. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality is investigating the incident.
