Armstrong, Miller Report Similar Funding for NDGOP Governor Candidate Campaigns – North Dakota Monitor

North Dakota’s Republican candidates for governor, Kelly Armstrong and Doug Miller, have both reported comparable amounts in their campaign war chests ahead of the primary election. Both candidates are vying to become the GOP nominee in the North Dakota governor’s race.

Armstrong, a U.S. congressman, reported having raised $242,000 during the first three months of the year, with $293,000 in the bank as of the end of March. He also reported receiving $100,000 from his congressional campaign account. Meanwhile, Miller, a Fargo businessman, reported raising $205,000 during the same period, with $260,000 in cash on hand.

Both candidates have received significant donations from a variety of sources, including political action committees and individual donors. Armstrong received donations from several PACs, including those representing the energy industry, while Miller received donations from individuals and local business owners.

The upcoming primary will determine which candidate will face off against Democratic-NPL candidate Shelley Lenz in the general election. All three candidates are vying to replace current Republican Governor Doug Burgum, who is not seeking re-election.

The governor’s race is expected to be closely watched, as North Dakota has historically been a Republican stronghold. However, with the recent increase in Democratic-NPL voter registration and the changing political landscape in the state, the outcome of the election is far from certain.

Both Armstrong and Miller have expressed confidence in their campaigns and their ability to win over voters in the state. With comparable war chests and support from various donors, the race is sure to be a competitive one leading up to the primary election.
