The cast of “Saturday Night Live” returned to biting satire after expressing allegiance to President-elect Donald Trump last week. The sketch comedy show featured a spoof of the meeting between outgoing president Joe Biden and Trump, with Trump’s cabinet picks depicted as unconventional choices. Reporters were pushed out of the meeting as the two presidents engaged in a serious discussion, with humorous banter in the background. The sketch highlighted the oddities of Trump’s cabinet picks and Biden’s struggles with his dog attacking foreign leaders. Trump offered Biden a position in his cabinet, but Biden declined, saying he will be too busy fighting Jake Paul. The show also featured a mock podcast called “Banger Boyz!” which had purported to welcome Trump during the campaign. The “Weekend Update” segment also poked fun at Trump’s choices, with co-host Colin Jost joking about Trump’s plans to fire everyone in six months. Charli XCX served as both the host and musical guest for the night’s episode. “SNL” airs on NBC, which is owned by NBCUniversal, the parent company of NBC News.
