Regional sports news updates were in full swing with various updates from schools in the area. Iowa State men’s basketball signed Mason Williams, a transfer from Eastern Washington. Iowa’s track and field team was busy at the Texas Relays, with athletes like Korczak Whalen securing wins. Payton Sandfort from Iowa will also compete in the 3-point contest.
Northern Iowa had a successful weekend, winning two events at their first outdoor meet, with Anna Jensen being named MVC Golfer of the Week. Eight UNI swimmers and divers also made it onto the MVC Scholar-Athlete Team. Coach Doug Schwab was recognized as the Big 12 Wrestling Coach of the Year.
