Hawks show adaptability in doubleheader split with Omaha

North Dakota softball bounces back with a dominant 14-1 win over Omaha in game two of a doubleheader. The victory moves UND back to .500 on the season with a 17-17 record and a 2-3 Summit League record. The Hawks produced a dozen hits in the win, with standout performances from players like Callie Honig, who hit a three-run blast in the fifth inning. Pitcher Makaela Carr also shined, throwing a complete game with eight strikeouts while scattering five hits. In contrast, Omaha cruised to a 20-0 win in the series opener.

The win marked several milestones for UND, including matching its single-game high in RBI with 12 and scoring the most runs allowed by Omaha this season. The Hawks will close out the series on Sunday with a rubber match. For more information on North Dakota softball, visit FightingHawks.com or follow on social media @UNDsoftball.
