North Dakota transfer Treysen Eaglestaff has committed to the South Carolina Gamecocks, as announced on his Instagram on Sunday. The 6-foot-6 guard had an impressive junior season, averaging 18.9 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game. He was a standout in the Summit League, ranking third in 3-point shooting and scoring 51 points in a game against South Dakota State. Despite interest from other programs, Eaglestaff chose to join South Carolina, who are looking to bounce back from a disappointing 12-20 season. Eaglestaff becomes the Gamecocks’ second transfer commit of the offseason, following 7-footer Christ Essandoko. South Carolina had a tough 2-16 record in SEC play last season, with a 13-game losing streak from January to February. The addition of Eaglestaff brings hope for a better season and a return to the success they had in the NCAA Tournament two years ago. The Gamecocks will benefit from Eaglestaff’s scoring ability and experience, as they aim to make a splash in the SEC and beyond. With two key transfers on board, South Carolina is building a strong roster for the upcoming season.
