Local First Responders Motivated to Participate in Special Olympics North Dakota Truck Pull Event

The Special Olympics North Dakota organization is hosting a truck pull event in Minot next weekend, celebrating strength, teamwork, and community. Teams of 10 to 15 participants will attempt to pull a 19,000-pound SWAT Bearcat truck a distance of 100 meters, with the top teams competing to pull a 47,000-pound fire truck. This event aims to bring excitement and awareness to the organization’s work with athletes, while also serving as a fundraiser.

Minot firefighter Alex Coleman, who was part of last year’s winning team, emphasized the importance of community involvement and serving the people they work with. The event is an opportunity for people to come together and support individuals of all walks of life.

The truck pull will take place on Saturday, April 26 at 12:30 p.m. at the North Dakota State Fairgrounds. Teams can still sign up on the organization’s website. This event serves as a way to spread the word about Special Olympics and their mission of empowering athletes.
