North Dakota defeats Omaha 4-1 to move onto Summit League championship game

The University of North Dakota men’s tennis team made history by advancing to its first conference title match in program history after defeating Omaha 4-1 in the semifinal round of the Summit League Men’s Tennis Championships. The win was a result of strong performances in both doubles and singles play, with key victories from players such as Leo Galliano, Christos Alex, and Ange-Kevin Koua. Galliano, who was named Summit League Newcomer of the Year, broke the program record for singles wins in a season. Head coach Tom Boysen credited the team’s senior leadership and discipline for their success.

North Dakota will play for its first conference crown since 1989 and a spot in the national tournament after claiming 10 NCC titles as a Division II program. The team will face Denver in the final match, taking place in Denver at 11 a.m. (CT). The squad is excited for the opportunity to compete for the Summit League Championship and is determined to secure the title.
