Transfer from North Dakota Joins Omaha Men’s Basketball Team

Omaha men’s basketball team has added another player to its transfer portal class with the commitment of former North Dakota forward Deng Mayar. The 6-foot-8 forward from Salt Lake City, Utah, spent two years with the Fighting Hawks after transferring in from Howard. Last season, he played in 29 games with 10 starts for UND, averaging 6.3 points and four rebounds per game.

This addition strengthens Omaha’s roster as they look ahead to the upcoming season. Mayar brings size, scoring ability, and experience to the team, providing depth in the frontcourt. Head coach Joe Dooley expressed excitement about Mayar joining the program, highlighting his potential impact on both ends of the court.

Omaha men’s basketball continues to make moves in the transfer portal to bolster their lineup and remain competitive in their conference. Mayar’s commitment adds to the team’s depth and talent as they prepare for the challenges ahead in the upcoming season.
