Green Team Triumphs in UND Spring Showcase
Grand Forks, N.D. – The North Dakota Fighting Hawks wrapped up their spring practices with an exhilarating performance at the UND Spring Showcase held inside the Pollard Athletic Center, where the Green team defeated the White team 32-17. An enthusiastic crowd of over 1,300 fans gathered to enjoy the event, spanning just over two hours.
The game employed a unique scoring system, separating points for offensive and defensive units. On the offensive side, traditional football scoring applied, including touchdowns worth six points, extra points at one, field goals at three, and two-point conversions. Conversely, defensive scoring followed a non-traditional format, rewarding teams for takeaways, three-and-outs, and missed field goals.
The Green team established an early lead, going up 4-0 before Easton Choate’s 31-yard field goal put the White team on the board, trailing 4-3. Defensive efforts led to interceptions by Bennett Walker and Owen McCloud, helping the Green squad head into halftime with an 18-3 advantage.
In a fierce response during the third quarter, the White team, led by Jack Sulik, connected on a 56-yard touchdown pass to Korey Tai, narrowing the gap to 18-10. However, the Green defense flexed its muscles in the final quarter, adding nine points with key stops that extended their lead to 32-10. Randle Parker later scored a rushing touchdown for the White team, bringing the final score to 32-17.
Fans enjoyed additional activities, including autograph sessions with players, and the event was broadcasted by the Fighting Hawks Radio Network, featuring commentary from coaches and player interviews. North Dakota’s journey will continue as they prepare for their season opener against Kansas State on August 30, 2025.
