The Fargo-Moorhead Rotary Clubs, in collaboration with the FM Youth Symphony, are hosting the annual "Recital with a Cause" to support Rotary International’s polio eradication efforts. This event features top student musicians performing classical pieces, with all proceeds directed towards the global initiative to eliminate polio. Since its inception in 2010, the Fargo-Moorhead Rotary Clubs have raised over $195,000 for PolioPlus, a sum that has been triple-matched by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. This funding has provided full immunity to 730,000 children and prevented 14,000 from suffering the moderate to severe effects of polio. As of March 2024, there have been no new reported cases of polio worldwide, marking significant progress in the eradication campaign. The "Recital with a Cause" serves as the District’s signature event on the eve of its District Conference in Fargo, underscoring the Rotary Clubs’ commitment to ending polio globally. Donations can be made securely through the online portal, with the option to select "Recital with a Cause" in the drop-down menu. (fmrotaryfoundation.org)
