COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The South Dakota State women’s basketball team is set to compete in the 2025 USA Basketball 3X Nationals, scheduled for May 2-4 at the Arizona Athletic Grounds. The tournament will feature 16 teams, showcasing elite women’s talent, including the Jackrabbits’ roster of Madison Mathiowetz, Brooklyn Meyer, Mahli Abdouch, and Claire Sheppard.
Kicking off on Friday, May 2, the event will commence with preliminary round matchups and culminate in medal rounds on Sunday. Teams will be seeded based on their preliminary records before advancing to bracket play. Fans can catch the action live on YouTube at YouTube.com/USABasketball throughout the tournament.
Admission to the 3X Nationals is free and open to the public, with free tickets available for reservation on Tixr.com to enhance the spectator experience. South Dakota State University will join other NCAA Division I programs, including Fairfield University, University of Florida, and Oklahoma State University, along with professional teams like 3XBA and independent squad Team Phoenix.
This tournament serves as a critical evaluation for selecting members for future USA Basketball 3×3 national teams, including those attending the 2025 FIBA 3×3 World Cup in June in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
3X basketball uniquely features gameplay on a half-court, utilizing a 10-minute match clock and 12-second shot clock, where the first team to reach 21 points or the lead at the conclusion of the regulation wins.
