Quincy Vaughn Drafted by Calgary Stampeders in CFL
Toronto, Ontario – In a historic moment for the University of North Dakota (UND), tight end Quincy Vaughn was selected 17th overall in the second round of the 2025 CFL Draft by the Calgary Stampeders on Tuesday. Vaughn is the first Fighting Hawk drafted since running back Brady Oliveira was picked by the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 2019.
Throughout his college career, Vaughn showcased versatility, playing both tight end and quarterback. He ranks sixth in UND’s Division I record book for career rushing touchdowns, with a total of 17, and seventh for overall touchdowns, scoring 21. In the 2024 season, he started three games and recorded 11 catches for 111 yards and a touchdown, all while maintaining an impeccable record on short-yardage conversions.
Vaughn’s contributions were significant in high-pressure situations, notably scoring the game-winning touchdown in an overtime victory against Indiana State. With a promising blend of skills and a strong performance track record, Vaughn is set to make his mark in professional football. The Stampeders will kick off their preseason against the BC Lions on May 19.
