North Dakota Softball Wraps Up Regular Season with Narrow Loss to SDSU
Grand Forks, N.D. – The University of North Dakota (UND) Fighting Hawks concluded their regular season with a close 2-1 defeat against South Dakota State University (SDSU) on Saturday at Albrecht Field. The loss dropped UND’s record to 25-28, while SDSU improved to 28-24.
The game marked Senior Day, with Camryn Lasota hitting a solo home run in the second inning, giving the Fighting Hawks an early lead. This was Lasota’s eighth home run of the season, marking a significant achievement for the team. SDSU quickly responded, tying the game in the fourth with a double from Madi Conklin, followed by a sacrifice fly in the fifth that secured the lead.
Jackie Albrecht, in her final home game, pitched a complete game, striking out seven batters and recording her 400th career strikeout, a notable milestone in the program’s history.
