Experience ‘Rhythms of the Region’ at Fort Buford State Historic Site

WILLISTON – The Fort Buford State Historic Site will host “Rhythms of the Region: Music and Cowboy Poetry” on Sunday, May 18, from 3-5 p.m. This free, family-friendly event aims to celebrate the area’s rich cultural traditions through live music and cowboy poetry.

Attendees can look forward to acoustic performances by Jim and Cheryl Lingenfelter, along with poetic recitations by Jonathan Odermann and Jarle Kavle. The event will take place in the historic setting of Fort Buford’s 19th-century barracks, weather permitting, providing a unique backdrop for an authentic cultural experience, according to the North Dakota Historical Society’s news release.

In addition to the event, the Fort Buford State Historic Site will remain open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. until September 30. This gathering promises to connect families and individuals with the unique musical and literary heritage of the region.
