South Dakota Volleyball Releases 2025 Fall Schedule

VERMILLION, S.D. — The South Dakota Coyotes volleyball team has unveiled its 2025 fall schedule in collaboration with the Summit League, featuring a total of 28 matches. This season includes 12 nonconference games and 16 regular-season contests within the Summit League.

The Coyotes will kick off their season with an exhibition match against Northern Iowa on August 23 at 2 p.m. at the Sanford Coyote Sports Center. The nonconference slate is robust, featuring four tournaments, two of which will occur in Vermillion. The season opener will take place in Bozeman, Montana, from August 29-31, where the Yotes will compete against Oregon, Prairie View A&M, and Montana State.

South Dakota’s home opener is set for September 11 during the Coyote Invitational against Green Bay. The team will also face notable opponents such as Kansas and Florida Gulf Coast on September 12-13.

After the Coyote Invitational, the Coyotes will host the South Dakota Classic, welcoming Villanova, Wichita State, and Drake from September 18-20. Notably, nine of the 12 nonconference opponents finished the 2024 season ranked in the top 100 RPI, with Kansas and Oregon both ranked in the top 25.

As they transition into conference play, the Coyotes will face North Dakota on September 25 and have a significant home opener against Oral Roberts on September 27. The Summit League Tournament is scheduled for November 23-25 in Brookings, where the top six teams in the league will compete. With recent successes, including winning five championships in the last seven years, the Coyotes aim to secure another NCAA Tournament berth.
