St. John’s Academy and Jamestown High School Showcase Talent at Recent Concert

Jamestown, ND – The harmonious collaboration of St. John’s Academy band and choir, along with the Jamestown High School choir, brought an evening of musical delight to the local community during their recent joint concert.

The event featured a variety of performances, highlighting the talents of young musicians. A trio of alto saxophone players, William McMillan, Adley Iverson, and Andrew Trumbauer, captivated the audience with their rhythmic rendition of "West Boulevard Rock." Fifth-grader Ben Sankey showcased his skills with a solo performance of "Rondo" on the baritone, impressing attendees with his maturity and talent.

The concert also featured St. John’s Academy choir under the direction of Kristen Lynch, whose students filled the auditorium with delightful melodies. The Jamestown High School choir also performed, representing the senior students’ dedication and hard work throughout the year. The women’s choir, in particular, received commendations for their engaging performance during the Jamestown High School Awards Concert.

In addition to the vocal performances, instrumental solos enriched the evening, with Maddie Ottmar enchanting the crowd on the oboe with "Ballad of the Yellow Sun." Drummer Mason Perkins and tenor saxophonist Kenley Pierce further contributed to the vibrant atmosphere.

The concert, directed by the talented Kristen Lynch, provided a platform for students to exhibit their skills, as well as cultivate a shared sense of community pride. The event not only celebrated artistic talent but also underscored the importance of music education in shaping the future of the students involved. Local families and friends were delighted to witness firsthand the hard work and dedication that these young performers put into their craft.
