Smoke & Iron Set to Open in Former Rebecco’s Taco Bar Space
WEST FARGO, ND — Following the closure of Rebecco’s Taco Bar in April, a new restaurant named Smoke & Iron is preparing to take its place at 611 32nd Ave. W. Although the eatery has not yet opened, signage and a newly launched website suggest it will be operational soon.
Co-owner Ramon Sosa, well-known for his role at Maxwell’s, describes this venture as a personal milestone, stating, "I’m going solo," while emphasizing his continued involvement at Maxwell’s. The grand opening is tentatively scheduled for Friday, May 16. Sosa outlines the menu as an exciting blend of American bistro cuisine with Latin American influences, incorporating flavors from Costa Rica, Brazil, and Argentina. Collaborating with him is Chef Octavio Ramirez, who brings rich culinary experience from Oaxaca, Mexico, alongside consulting chef Sara Watson.
Sosa is committed to offering affordable, made-from-scratch meals in a familial atmosphere, welcoming guests to gather and enjoy. The location has a history of previous establishments, including Mas Tequila, which temporarily closed due to a fire and reopened later. Smoke & Iron looks to revive the space with a fresh, flavorful concept.
