Fighting Hawks Shine at Summit League Championships

Sioux Falls, S.D. – The University of North Dakota (UND) dominated the Summit League Outdoor Championships, earning 13 All-Summit League honors following 18 all-conference performances. Kenna Curry led the Hawks, achieving three accolades, including gold in the hammer throw with a record-setting throw of 223-1 (68.01m), alongside victories in the shot put and silver in the discus. Her stunning performances earned her the Field Championship Most Valuable Player title.

Jadyn Keeler also shone brightly, capturing three all-conference honors, including gold in the 5,000 meters, where she set a new conference meet record with a time of 16:09.70, finishing over 20 seconds ahead of her competitors. She was named the Track Championship Most Valuable Player.

The Hawks’ success continued with Malene Kollberg winning gold in the heptathlon and Ethan Thomas named Newcomer of the Championship for his impressive javelin silver. UND athletes showcased remarkable talent across events, with additional medals earned in various track and field categories.

As athletes prepare for the upcoming NCAA West Preliminary Round, scheduled for May 28-31 in College Station, Texas, the Fighting Hawks aim to build on their successful conference performance.
