HUD Allocates $109.42 Million in Indian Housing Block Grants
WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has unveiled a significant funding opportunity, distributing $109.42 million in Indian Housing Block Grants to eligible Native American tribes and housing entities across several states, including Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, and Wyoming.
In North Dakota, the following tribes will receive substantial support: the Spirit Lake Tribe is awarded $4.22 million, the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe receives $7.78 million, the Three Affiliated Tribes of Fort Berthold is granted $4.71 million, and the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa is set to benefit from $10.77 million.
This funding initiative is designed to enhance housing opportunities and living conditions for Native communities, reflecting the federal commitment to addressing housing challenges in tribal areas. HUD’s investments aim to support sustainable housing development and improve overall quality of life for Native American families.
