North Dakota Athletics Announces Finalists for Night of Champions Awards

Grand Forks, N.D. – As the 2024-25 athletic season comes to a close, North Dakota Athletics has revealed the finalists for its prestigious Night of Champions awards ceremony, scheduled for Wednesday, April 30, at 6:00 p.m. at the historic Empire Arts Center in Grand Forks.

This annual event celebrates the outstanding achievements of student-athletes in academics, athletics, and community service. Awards nominees were selected by the respective head coaches and athletic communications contacts, while winners will be voted on by head coaches, athletic support staff, and the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).

Highlighted awards include the Female and Male Scholar Teams of the Year, with contenders in women’s cross country, golf, and track and field, alongside men’s cross country, golf, and tennis. Female and Male Scholar-Athletes of the Year nominees showcase a blend of academic excellence and athletic prowess.

Other key awards cover community service, with categories for individual and team contributions across genders. Notable award sections include the Spirit Squad Scholar Athlete, Team Community Service Awards, and the Spirit Award, recognizing student-athletes for their engagement and commitment to community initiatives.

The awards also showcase emerging talents with the Newcomer of the Year honors for both male and female athletes. Top individual performances and play highlights of the season are acknowledged, leading to the coveted titles of Grace Rhonemus Female Athlete of the Year and Glenn "Red" Jarrett Male Athlete of the Year.
