West Fargo’s Michelle Gee Dominates at State Track Meet
Bismarck, ND – In a remarkable display of athleticism, West Fargo’s Michelle Gee emerged as a standout performer at the North Dakota state track and field meet, clinching three gold medals in the Class A girls division on Saturday. Gee triumphed in the 100, 200, and 400 meters, tying the state meet record in the 100 with an impressive time of 11.97 seconds.
Fargo Davies’ Kate Laqua shone brightly as well, securing victories in both the 100 and 300 hurdles, and earning the title of Class A girls senior athlete of the year. Bismarck Century’s Josh Berger was awarded the same honor in the boys’ division.
In Class B, Velva-Drake-Anamoose’s Anya Olson made headlines by winning the 100, 200, and 400 meters, setting a new Class B record in the 400 at 55.91 seconds, while May-Port-CG’s Keaton Saastad set a new Class B record in the boys’ 100 with a time of 10.88 seconds. The state meet, held at the MDU Resources Community Bowl, showcased exceptional talent and fierce competition.
