Fargo Teams Aim for State Championships This Weekend
FARGO, N.D. (Valley News Live) – Four local teams are set to compete for state championships after thrilling semifinal victories. In Class B Baseball, the Thompson Tommies staged a dramatic comeback, defeating Northern Cass 4-3 with two runs in the bottom of the seventh. Meanwhile, LaMoure-Litchville/Marion pulled off an upset against top-seeded Park River Area, winning 7-4. Thompson seeks its fourth consecutive title, while LLM aims for its first championship. They face off at Newman Outdoor Field on Saturday at 7:00 p.m.
In Class A Baseball, the Sheyenne Mustangs edged Fargo South with a close 6-5 victory and will square off against Minot at 2:00 p.m. Saturday in Grand Forks.
In Class B Softball, top-seeded Central Cass rallied to win 9-2 against Beulah after falling behind 2-0 in the fourth inning. The Squirrels will compete for their first championship since 2022 against Des Lacs Burlington at 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Tharaldson Park.
