Grand Forks Area Excels with 11 Players Named to Class B All-State Baseball Team

GRAND FORKS — The North Dakota High School Coaches Association announced the North Dakota Class B all-state baseball team on Monday, featuring a remarkable 11 players from the Grand Forks area. State champion Thompson secured two spots on the first team with standout seniors Thomas Schumacher and William Welke. Schumacher entered the state tournament with an impressive batting average of .527, while Welke maintained a strong average of .459.

Joining them on the first team are senior Avery Gratton of Larimore, junior Tucker Omdahl from Park River, junior Theodore Romfo of Langdon-Munich, and junior Hunter Hagler of North Star. The all-state second team includes area talents such as juniors Chase Haffely and Jacob Solseng from Hillsboro-Central Valley and Park River, respectively, along with senior Kyler Droog of Grafton and juniors Tyson Leshuk of Hillsboro-Central Valley and Isaac Porter from Park River.

Despite being the top seed in last weekend’s state tournament in Fargo, the Park River Aggies were eliminated in the semifinals by LaMoure-L-M. This year’s accolades highlight the region’s growing talent in high school baseball.
