Fargo’s Bobcat North Dakota Open Moves to Rose Creek
FARGO — The long-standing Bobcat North Dakota Open is set to continue this year, but with a new home at Rose Creek, after the Fargo Country Club opted out of hosting the event. The tournament, scheduled from August 22-24, will still benefit The Village Family Services, maintaining its commitment to community support. Tournament director Mark Johnson, who returns for another year, expressed enthusiasm for this shift, emphasizing the dual purpose of competitive golf and community outreach.
The Bobcat Open remains a marquee event at the close of the Dakotas Tour, which kicks off this weekend with the South Dakota Open Pro-Am. Johnson, also the CEO and Director of Golf at Suite Shots and former head club professional at Fargo Country Club, noted that the professionals value both the competition and the well-run event format.
This year, the tournament introduces new activities such as a skills competition and a Big Brothers Big Sisters clinic. While Rose Creek will present unique challenges, including potential wind conditions, Johnson aims to ensure a fair and engaging competition without "tricking up" the course. Bobcat Company continues its long-standing support, enhancing the event’s community impact.
