Hillsboro-Central Valley Softball Trio Shines in All-Star Series
GRAND FORKS — Celebrating a remarkable season, Kailee Kittelson, Peyton Quam, and Carsi Hattlestad of Hillsboro-Central Valley participated in the Scheels North Dakota Softball All-Stars games at UND’s Albrecht Field. This marked a bittersweet occasion as it was their final time playing together, following a historic third-place finish at the North Dakota Class B state tournament.
All three seniors made significant contributions on the field, with Quam tripling in the third-place match against Beulah and Kittelson finishing with a standout 3-for-5 performance. In the All-Star doubleheader, Kittelson excelled again, securing a 4-for-6 record with two RBIs, while Hattlestad showcased her hustle, turning heads with a clever run from first to home. The game ended in a high-scoring 16-13 contest favoring the West All-Stars.
Coach Cory Erickson praised the trio, emphasizing their growth from a 6-16 record the previous season to a commendable third-place finish. As they transition to collegiate play, the seniors reflect on the hard work and dedication that fueled their journey, reminding them that success takes time and perseverance.
