Hotel Security Officer Claims Diddy Paid $100K to Conceal Assault Video

In the latest developments of Sean Combs’ federal trial, much of the testimony focused on a 2016 incident where Diddy assaulted Casandra Ventura at the InterContinental Hotel in Los Angeles. Hotel security supervisor Eddy Garcia testified that Diddy and his team sought to acquire the sole copy of the security video of the incident, offering $100,000 to the hotel’s security staff for their silence and the destruction of the evidence. He mentioned that he was so anxious about the nondisclosure agreement (NDA) he signed that he did not read it thoroughly. Diddy reportedly provided the cash in a brown paper bag, with Garcia later using his $30,000 share to purchase a used car.

Garcia admitted he initially misled police about the assault, and during cross-examination, the defense pointed out that the NDA did not prevent him from discussing the events in a legal context, suggesting a strategy aimed at challenging claims of obstruction of justice.

Additionally, Derek Ferguson, former CFO of Bad Boy Entertainment, took the stand to explain Diddy’s business operations.

The trial saw its first disruption when a spectator interrupted courtroom proceedings, vocally supporting Diddy and claiming he was innocent. U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian ordered her removal promptly. Concerns were raised by prosecutors about the exposure of the true identity of a government witness, leading to discussions about potential restrictions on media coverage.

Looking ahead, the trial is set to hear from forensic video expert Frank Piazza and Bryana Bangolan, who alleges Diddy threatened her by dangling her over a balcony. For further updates, NBC’s “Dateline” is featuring episodes that recap trial proceedings.
