Over 600 Leaders Celebrate Financial Talent Driving Tech Innovation at NVTC’s 2025 Technology CFO Awards

McLEAN, Va., June 3, 2025 — The Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC), the leading trade association for the region’s tech industry, held its annual Technology CFO Awards gala last night, honoring the exceptional finance leaders propelling innovation and growth across the National Capital Region. This 29th edition of the awards spotlighted the pivotal role CFOs play in transforming the tech landscape, particularly amid rapid advancements in artificial intelligence.

"Exceptional CFOs are critical to the success of tech enterprises in this AI-driven era," stated Jennifer Taylor, NVTC President and CEO. "The honorees exemplify the financial acumen and strategic vision essential for shaping our innovation economy."

Wes Epton, Partner at EY and Chair of this year’s Awards program, remarked on Northern Virginia’s burgeoning tech scene, crediting financial leaders with strengthening its economic foundation.

A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Michael G. Devine Hall of Fame Award to its namesake in recognition of his profound legacy within tech finance. Nearly three decades ago, Devine pioneered the CFO Awards, celebrating often-overlooked financial leaders in the tech sector. His impressive career includes pivotal roles in guiding growth-stage companies and shaping Northern Virginia’s innovation landscape.

The event also recognized the 2025 Class of Rising Stars, showcasing emerging talent poised to define the future of tech finance.

The following awards were presented:

  • Emerging Growth CFO of the Year: Priyanka Dalwadi, Bcore
  • Private Company CFO of the Year: David Uehlinger, Gunnison
  • Public Company CFO of the Year: Travis Johnson, Amentum
  • Transformative CFO of the Year: Andrew Woodruff, Markon
  • 2025 Class of Rising Stars: Cara Anastasio, Sander Borgers, Julie Brewer, Dan Demases, Eric Frank, Matthew Mundt
