Governor Armstrong Reinforces Commitment to Tribal Relations at G2G Conference

Bismarck, ND – Governor Kelly Armstrong opened the seventh Government-to-Government (G2G) Conference at the Bismarck Event Center, emphasizing North Dakota’s dedication to strengthening ties with its five tribal nations. This two-day event, organized by the North Dakota Indian Affairs Commission, convened tribal, state, federal, and private sector leaders to foster collaboration and mutual understanding.

"Events like this are key to providing education and fostering partnerships between tribal nations, state agencies, and federal partners," Armstrong stated. "We’re all North Dakotans, sharing challenges and successes alike. By working together, we can enhance collaboration and improve understanding of tribal relations across all levels of government and industry."

The conference featured representatives from North Dakota’s federally recognized tribes, including the Mandan, Hidatsa, and Arikara Nation, Spirit Lake Nation, Standing Rock Sioux Tribe, Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians, and Sisseton Wahpeton Oyate Nation. Armstrong also announced his intent to visit each tribal nation over the summer and fall to engage with their specific challenges and opportunities, aiming for meaningful dialogue on collaboration and key priorities.
