In the latest testimony during Sean “Diddy” Combs’ federal trial, Bryana Bongolan recounted a frightening encounter with the music mogul from September 2016. While staying overnight at Diddy’s former girlfriend Casandra Ventura’s apartment, Bongolan claimed Diddy entered uninvited and physically lifted her onto a balcony rail, holding her for about 10 to 15 seconds while yelling at her, leaving her fearing for her safety.
Bongolan also testified about another incident in which Diddy allegedly threw a knife in Ventura’s direction, a throw that missed, and made dark comments about himself being “the devil” during a time he was using cocaine. Under cross-examination, Bongolan struggled with some specifics of her memory regarding these events.
The prosecution introduced forensic video expert Frank Piazza, who confirmed the authenticity of hotel security footage depicting an assault on Ventura by Diddy in March 2016, indicating that the video was not altered. The defense attempted to contest this footage’s relevance since Diddy was not charged with the incident, arguing it might unfairly prejudice the jury. Nonetheless, prosecutors asserted its significance, claiming it illustrated Diddy using coercion in sexual encounters known as “freak offs”—a key element in their sex trafficking case.
Diddy’s legal team expressed frustrations about communication issues with him while he is in jail. The courtroom proceedings are expected to continue with further cross-examination of Bongolan and testimony from another accuser identified only as “Jane,” who will allege involvement in commercial sex acts under coercion.
