North Dakota Announces Prairie Day Celebrations in Fargo

FARGO — North Dakota will officially celebrate Prairie Day each year on June 7, following a proclamation by Gov. Kelly Armstrong. To mark this occasion, the United Prairie Foundation is organizing a free celebration on Saturday, June 7, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Urban Plains Park, located at 3020 51st St. S.

The event is open to people of all ages, and pets are welcome too. Attendees can enjoy various activities centered around prairie landscapes, including guided nature walks, bird and plant identification, and opportunities for hands-on learning. Participants will also be able to engage in creative activities like sidewalk chalk drawing, planting native seedlings, and exploring the park for bugs and butterflies.
