Press Release: American Legion Ride 605 Raises Funds for Veterans in South Dakota
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — The American Legion Ride 605 is currently underway, uniting veterans and supporters as they traverse South Dakota. This annual fundraising event benefits the South Dakota American Legion Foundation, which provides vital assistance to veterans in need and supports youth programs.
The inaugural day of the ride began in Piedmont and concluded in Winner, with a stop in Sioux Falls before continuing to Madison for the night. "As our membership declines, we increasingly rely on the Foundation to fund essential programs for children, youth, and veterans," stated Kevin Morello, Commander of the American Legion Department of South Dakota. He emphasized the importance of financial support from the Foundation to sustain their community initiatives.
In a show of solidarity, the Sioux Falls American Legion Post 15 presented a $650 check to the Foundation, highlighting their commitment to enhancing the lives of veterans and youth in South Dakota.
The ride not only strengthens community ties but also raises critical funds to ensure the ongoing support of those who have served. Participants and donors are encouraged to continue contributing as the ride progresses.
