Yaroslav Riazanov, a Ukrainian worker, expressed his distress as his work permit nears expiration, highlighting the financial strain of mounting bills. “I need to work because I have a lot of bills to pay. It’s a big stress for me,” he stated.
FM Volunteers for Ukraine, a local support group, emphasizes the significant contributions of these individuals to the community. Co-founder Michael Southam noted that while humanitarian parole does not lead to citizenship, many participants are eager to establish stable lives and contribute positively to their new communities.
