Press Release: Inaugural Police Week Competition Highlights Canine Skills
Minot Air Force Base, ND – On May 13, Senior Airman Ryan Faulk, a military working dog handler with the 5th Security Forces Squadron, showcased the agility and training of his dog, MP, during the first-ever Police Week Top Dog of the Tundra Competition held at Grand Forks Air Force Base. The event featured various demonstrations that tested the capabilities of military working dogs and their handlers.
During the competition, Faulk skillfully managed MP as the dog engaged in training exercises, including a bite scenario involving Staff Sgt. Stephen Zimmerman from the 319th Security Forces Squadron. This unique event not only fostered teamwork among military personnel but also highlighted the vital role that working dogs play in security operations.
Photographer Airman 1st Class Emma Funderburk captured the dynamic moments of the competition, which signifies a strong commitment to enhancing law enforcement and canine-handling skills within the Air Force community. The Police Week events aim to honor the contributions of security forces while strengthening bonds among service members and promoting public awareness of their essential work.
