Tulane Baseball Splits Series Against North Dakota State
New Orleans, LA – The Tulane baseball team (11-4) recently faced North Dakota State (2-13) at Greer Field at Turchin Stadium, achieving a series victory with a win and a loss on March 9-10.
In the first game, which resumed after Saturday’s rain delay, Tulane triumphed 9-3. Pitcher Trey Cehajic (3-1) delivered a strong performance, throwing six innings and allowing just two runs (one earned) while striking out six batters. Connor Rasmussen and Tanner Chun led the offensive charge with three hits and three RBIs each, while Matthias Haas contributed with a home run and two RBIs. Tulane showcased a powerful offense, highlighted by back-to-back home runs from Rasmussen and Haas in the first inning.
The second game saw a disappointing turn as Tulane fell to North Dakota State 12-3. Starting pitcher J.D. Rodriguez (1-1) struggled early, allowing two runs without recording an out. Despite a two-run homer from Chun in the sixth, the Green Wave faced a barrage of runs in the ninth inning, which included a grand slam from NDSU’s Sam Canton.
Looking ahead, Tulane will host Nicholls on March 11 at 6:30 p.m., followed by Jackson State on March 12. The Green Wave has won three of its first four weekend series this season, demonstrating strength and resilience.
