Obituary: Remembering Betty Jane McPherson
Jamestown, ND – Betty Jane McPherson, 90, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2025, while recovering from surgery at JRMC. Born on May 30, 1935, in Jamestown, she was the daughter of Louis and Lydia Job and grew up amidst her seven siblings. Betty met her husband, Mac McPherson, during high school and they married on September 13, 1954, in Moorhead, Minnesota.
A dedicated mother to four children—Mike, Mitch, Cyndi, and Mark—Betty balanced raising her family with various jobs to support her children’s education, a goal she and Mac proudly achieved. Together, they operated their business, Glenmac Inc., where Betty played an instrumental role, and enjoyed traveling the world.
Deeply rooted in her faith, Betty had an unwavering belief in Jesus Christ and found comfort in the promise of eternal reunion. She cherished her family, leaving behind a legacy that includes 12 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren. Betty is also survived by her siblings, David Job and Gayle Procko.
Betty was predeceased by her husband Mac, her parents, and several family members, including her daughter-in-law Ann McPherson. Until her passing, she relished the comfort of her home on Hillcrest Drive, surrounded by family memorabilia.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2025, from 10 to 11 AM at Haut Funeral Home, followed by the funeral service at 11 AM. Burial will take place after lunch at Sunset Memorial Garden, Jamestown. Betty’s warm spirit and devotion to her family will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
