Hope Church Set to Advance $8 Million Renovation Plans – Grand Forks Herald

Hope Church Expands with $10 Million Building Program

GRAND FORKS — Hope Church is experiencing significant growth, with attendance rising from approximately 1,000 to around 1,300 congregants in just one year. To accommodate this increase, the church is launching an ambitious building program, aiming to raise between $8 million and $10 million for renovations at the Grand Cities Mall, which it owns.

Pastor Paul Knight announced plans to enhance the children’s department and introduce an indoor playground, alongside a community coffee shop and expanded youth facilities. “If funds allow, we’ll also refurbish the exterior for a more inviting church appearance,” he noted.

Hope Church aims to provide these amenities not only for its congregation but for the wider community. The coffee shop and playground will be accessible year-round. The church employs around 175 people, bolstered by numerous volunteers, and actively engages with nearby communities through micro campuses.

Additionally, the Grand Cities Mall is seeing new tenants including Melissa’s Cocina and Artwise, bringing occupancy close to 90%. Future plans might even involve residential units. “We’re excited about the potential for growth and community impact,” Knight remarked.

This initiative underscores Hope Church’s commitment to extending hospitality and outreach.
