Press Release: Minot North Senior Named North Dakota’s Mr. Golf

Minot, ND – Minot North senior Kasen Rostad gained recognition as North Dakota’s Mr. Golf during the Dakota Junior Golf Association Russ Newman Junior tournament, held in Fargo. This accolade follows a stellar performance at the Class A Boys State Golf Tournament on June 3 and 4, where Rostad helped lead the Sentinels to a state title while also finishing third individually.

“This award is very special to me. It showcases all the hard work and dedication I’ve put in over the years,” said Rostad, who has played golf since eighth grade. He expressed mixed emotions about concluding his high school career, reflecting on the support from coaches and teammates. “I am very humbled and appreciative to receive this award,” he added.

Rostad was among four finalists for the prestigious honor, alongside Joseph Kramlich, Ryker Landers, and Porter Seidel. The North Dakota Ms. Golf award went to Sophie Brakke of Grand Forks Red River. Looking ahead, Rostad is set to join the golf team at Minot State University next season.
