Obituary: Duane Wolsky, 80, of Valley City, North Dakota

Valley City, ND – Duane Wolsky, a beloved member of the Valley City community, passed away unexpectedly on June 8, 2025, at the age of 80 due to unforeseen complications. A lifelong resident of Jamestown and Valley City, Duane dedicated his life to building a loving home and a caring community.

Born and raised in the area, Duane married Lana Jones in 1971, and the couple enjoyed more than fifty years together, filled with joy and family. Throughout his professional life, he devoted over 20 years to serving as a plumber at the North Dakota State Hospital, where his work had a lasting impact on both his colleagues and the community.

Duane is survived by his loving wife, Lana; their daughters, Dawn Johnson and Robin Putnam (Rob Putnam); and his treasured grandson, Paul Neary. Known for his kindness and generosity, Duane will be profoundly missed by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know him.

In honor of Duane’s spirit of kindness, the family encourages those who wish to pay tribute to engage in acts of goodwill in his memory. Private services will be held for the family, allowing them to celebrate his life and legacy in a personal setting.
