Bill Chaves Appointed to NCAA Division I Football Championship Committee
Grand Forks, N.D. – Bill Chaves, Athletic Director at the University of North Dakota, has been appointed to the NCAA Division I Football Championship Committee, a role he describes as a significant responsibility for both Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) football and the Missouri Valley Football Conference.
"I look forward to working with colleagues nationwide to enhance this prestigious NCAA championship," Chaves stated. He will represent the Missouri Valley Football Conference on the FCS Playoff Committee, which oversees a 24-team, single-elimination tournament. Of these teams, 10 conference champions earn automatic bids, while 14 additional teams are chosen at large.
Chaves’ term on the committee will commence on June 2, 2025, and conclude on August 31, 2029. His experience and leadership are expected to contribute to the growth and success of FCS football.
