CVMA Hosts Statewide Motorcycle Ride for Flag Day
In celebration of Flag Day, the Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association (CVMA) launched a two-day statewide motorcycle ride, kicking off in Fargo and making a notable stop in Minot on Friday. The event aimed to honor the adoption of the American flag in 1777, featuring stops at various SCHEELS locations across North Dakota and Moorhead, Minnesota. Community members were invited to exchange worn or damaged flags for new ones at no cost, fostering a spirit of patriotism and respect for the nation’s symbol.
CVMA Public Relations Officer Tom Krabbenhoft emphasized the significance of such events, expressing gratitude for the ability to engage with local communities. The ride saw participation from motorcyclists throughout the region, with CVMA members spending the night in Minot before continuing their journey to Bismarck. The Minot Police Department provided an escort for the riders as they set out on U.S. Highway 83 around 11:30 a.m.
All collected flags are set to be retired honorably during a public ceremony in Fargo at 2 p.m. today, led by the CVMA alongside the Fargo Memorial Honor Guard. This initiative underscores the CVMA’s commitment to honoring veterans and fostering community connections.
