James River Senior Center Enhances Nutrition and Social Connections for Seniors
JAMESTOWN, ND — The James River Senior Center is committed to serving the nutritional needs of seniors with hot, balanced meals available at three locations: Center I, Gardenette, and James House, as well as the Streeter Senior Center. Meals are offered Monday through Friday, with serving times varying by location.
Designed for seniors aged 60 and over, each meal fulfills at least one-third of daily nutritional requirements. Donations of $4 are suggested for seniors, while those under 60 are charged $7.32. Meal reservations must be made a day in advance by calling 252-2882. Transportation is available for a nominal fee of 50 cents each way for senior center diners, provided through James River Transit.
In addition to meals, the center offers outreach services, assistance with health insurance, and other resources tailored for seniors. Activities at Center I include exercise classes, tech support, and bingo, ensuring a vibrant community environment. Frozen meals are also provided monthly in Medina.
