Press Release: No. 18 North Dakota Hockey Set for Final Regular Season Series Against Omaha

Grand Forks, N.D. – The No. 18 University of North Dakota Fighting Hawks men’s hockey team is gearing up for its final regular season series against the Omaha Mavericks, beginning Friday at 6:36 p.m. (CT) at Ralph Engelstad Arena. Fans can tune in to the action on the Fighting Hawks Radio Network, available through the iHeart Radio app. Longtime commentator Tim Hennessy, marking his 45th year with UND hockey, will team up with Mike LaMoine for the broadcast.

The game will also be featured on CBS Sports Network, with Alex Heinert and Dave Starman on commentary, complemented by Shireen Starman as the pregame, intermission, and postgame host. Unfortunately, viewers will not be able to stream the game on NCHC.tv due to national broadcasting rights.

Historically, this matchup will mark the 61st meeting between North Dakota and Omaha, with the Fighting Hawks leading the series 36-22-2. Notably, the first team to score has triumphed in 28 of the last 33 contests, underscoring the critical nature of the opening goal in this rivalry.

Omaha has enjoyed recent success, winning four out of five matchups against North Dakota last season, including a victory in the NCHC Frozen Faceoff Semifinal.
