Press Release: Volt Lithium to Deploy Mobile Direct Lithium Extraction Unit in North Dakota

CALGARY, Alberta, June 11, 2025 – Volt Lithium Corp. (TSXV: VLT | OTCQB: VLTLF | FSE: I2D) is set to deploy its innovative mobile Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE) unit in North Dakota’s Bakken region by the end of June 2025. This significant move, in partnership with Wellspring Hydro, comes with substantial backing of US$2.5 million from the North Dakota Industrial Commission’s Clean Sustainable Energy Authority.

Mark Watson, President and CEO of Wellspring, expressed enthusiasm for initiating field operations, adding that Volt is the only DLE firm funded by the state thus far. The shift to becoming LibertyStream Infrastructure Partners Inc. reflects Volt’s strategy to collaborate with oilfield infrastructure to extract lithium from produced water.

Volt’s DLE technology showcases versatility and economic benefits, as it is engineered to integrate with existing salt-water disposal facilities, drastically reducing capital and operating costs. The Bakken unit aims to leverage high lithium concentrations, with potential output projected at up to 50,000 tonnes of Lithium Carbonate Equivalent (LCE) annually.

CEO Alex Wylie noted the growing interest in Volt’s technology, aiming to meet escalating market demand across major North American oil-producing basins.
