St. Thomas swept North Dakota in a doubleheader, winning 6-2 and 8-3. St. Thomas scored early in both games, taking advantage of three-run first innings. North Dakota responded with single tallies but couldn’t overcome the early deficits. St. Thomas sealed their victories with additional runs in the later innings, including a solo blast in the seventh inning of the first game and two solo home runs in the fifth inning of the second game. Despite North Dakota’s efforts, they couldn’t catch up to St. Thomas’s lead. The two teams will face off again in the series finale on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Albrecht Field. Katelyn Strauss had a standout performance for North Dakota, pitching 5.0 innings in relief in game one and matching her season-high in strikeouts. The Hawks managed just two extra-base hits in both games combined. For more information on North Dakota softball, visit FightingHawks.com.
